Nygammal metod - En snabbedömning ska göras på alla patienter i Västmanland innan de lastas på ambulans. Detta för att öka patientsäkerheten.

Patienter i Västmanland ska få en första bedömning innan de de lastas på ambulans. Då ska en metod för snabb bedömning och prioritering som från början användes vid stora olyckor, triage, användas.

- Fördelarna är flera. Nu bedöms alla på samma sätt vilket ökar patientsäkerheten samtidigt som ambulanspersonalen får ett bra stöd vid sina bedömningar, säger Fredrik Leek, enhetschef för ambulanssjukvården i Västmanland.

I höst ska även akuten börja arbeta enligt triagemetoden, vilket förväntas leda till ännu snabbare och bättre beslut.
